News & Information Survey

The WNC News & Information Survey asks WNC residents how they access and use various types of news and information in their local communities. It includes such questions as:

  • What are your primary sources of local and national news?
  • Where do you first hear breaking news? Where do you turn for more information?
  • How do you most often get information on specific topics, such as healthcare, jobs and finances, or special assistance?
  • Who do you trust to give you information about your community?
  • What local issues are important to you?

The survey is available in English and Spanish at wnclocal.news/survey and wnclocal.news/encuesta, or by texting SURVEY or ENCUESTA to 855-541-2366. Learn more about the Workshop’s texting and privacy policies.

The survey also serves as a tool for identifying individuals who are willing to share more information via personal interviews or focus groups.
